How to Get Started
1. Complete an online volunteer information form here. Your info will be shared with the coordinator of the site that is the best fit for your schedule, location and preferences and he/she will get you started after you attend an orientation.
2. Attend an orientation. If you plan to tutor, mentor or meet with a small group, the orientation is required unless you've attended one in the last two years at USD259 or Big Brothers Big Sisters. Orientations last about 1.25 hours.
Sign in at the office (if attending a school orientation) and you will be directed to the orientation location.

- If you prefer, you may complete paperwork ahead of time and come 15 minutes after the listed start time. Print forms below and bring them with you, completed.
- Clerical and other volunteers are not required to attend.
- High school students are not required to attend but are strongly encouraged to.
- The orientation schedule is listed below. You can choose one and RSVP to jwencel@usd259.net or wait to be contacted about attending one as needed.
- To schedule an orientation for 3 or more friends/co-workers at a location of your choice, e-mail jwencel@usd259.net and propose two possible dates and times.
- Big Brothers Big Sisters has an additional training for those volunteers who choose to be matched through their organization.
